Yeah, I think there's more people from the south here in America.

It's hard without a book though. It's really annoying to teach someone a language. You have to be patient and understanding. So I don't ask them to teach me. So without a book I can't learn. They can't spell in Vietnamese either since they were raised in America >.>

Oh well, though. I'll learn somehow, right? :) What's the difference between south and north dialect?

Most of my friends are from the south, but some are from the north. Sometimes they tease me in Vietnamese. My friend's parents try to talk to me in English, but their accent is really bad. So I ask my friend what they're saying and he says "I have no idea, we can't understand him in Vietnamese either." lol~

As for my purpose... I guess it's because that's the only language to speak around here besides English (and Spanish of course).

It would be easier to learn if it wasn't so hard to pronounce! I can find books to teach me but they don't do any good since I still can't speak it ^.^

I actually have a lot of Vietnamese friends here in America. We grew up together and I've always asked them to teach me, but they're lazy haha. And they're all from different parts of Vietnam so when they teach me words, the other ones will come in and say "oh, that's what they say in the South, you actually say it like this" or something like that lol
