I haven't been on Interpals long. It will be 2 years in March 2012. The thing is whether I have a profile pic or not I believe the Queen part of my username attracts some attention for a friend request.

First of all who reads profiles? I mean first of all I hid pictures of myself so they can only be viewed by those who are friends with me on the site. Well, anyone attractive to one's eye will garner some attention. Also the message a person button is readily available from the search page so I have gotten a couple of times "I like your profile" or something along the lines of "your profile moved me" just from that blurb that appears on the search page. I can usually tell because the person who sent me the message will no appear as someone who has viewed my profile.

In addition to that I have placed high enough in the About Me section the explanation of my username. I have been using this username since I first got my own e-mail so I can use MSN (now windows live) messenger back when I was in grade 8/9. It has been with me through signing up with sites fanfiction.net and fictionpress.com (my crazy ideas from back in the day and I have sorta changed since then. There's a less likely chance that one of those accounts will be updated unless I complete something that's worth sharing). I have used a variation of this on neopets as queen_raiden_00 but still kept Queen_Raiden when signed up for GaiaOnline. Not sure what else I've signed up for with this username that I can recall, but I also use this on my Flickr, Youtube and when I was fooling around with a couple of free mmo's.

Unlike the entertainment sites, this place seems more realistic. I believe most of the time when a guy from a certain geographical area approaches me, they think I'm some form of royalty.

Sometimes I wonder if I should change my username or say something in French at the beginning of my about me section. I'm too attached to my username and secondly if I write something in French I have a feeling I'll be spoken to in French. I could say something like "lirez avant écrivez s'il vous plait. Si vous ne comprenez pas mon profil, dite-moi."

Other options: I could make a video of me speaking. That way it will leave my profile on the search page full of links (about me section just links, that seem s like an interesting idea) and maybe get people to look at the profile. The drawbacks I believe are: people might just watch me instead of listening to me and it may not be useful for those on a slow connection ending up with me explaining myself again (also at the same time still get messages that say "hi you're pretty").
