The good part is that substantial part of the Polish grammar has common roots with other Slav languages so once you learn Polish, then learning Russian will be really easy to you.
The bad is that our orthography is very difficult, even for us, Poles.
What you need is some decent manual, persistence and fun from using Polish. That's the reason I set up my profile at the portal - to have fun from studying foreign languages

You are indeed studying Polish. That's one of the most difficult languages but I believe you already know it. The good part of Polish is that we practically don't have any dialect i.e. with very few exceptions you can't distinct anyone by his/her accent, the bad is that we have one of the most complex/messy - whatever option suits you better - grammar on earth with the number of exceptions closely following the number of rules.
