Due to personal internal bias, it is impossible to objectively treat a person the same way they treat you. You can only treat people the way you perceive them to be treating you, and you could totally misunderstand and misinterpreted them, ending up being awful to them, when they were trying to be nice to you.
It's always best to not let others control you and your behavior, and just treat people the way you wish they would treat you. Stay true to yourself, and don't behave like a different person with every person you talk to.
