I think it's funny that you want to come and live in North America and we want to love in the UK. I guess the grass is always greener...

It's probably just what you're used to seeing growing up. I did a study abroad at the University of London and that's when I fell in love with the UK. If I could find a job there I'd probably never come back to the States.

Good luck finding work. I know how hard it is right now.

I've always wanted to live in Seattle, but it's actually quite smaller than I thought it would be. I grew up in Chicago and then lived in LA for the last 4 years so it's actually weird how small it feels. We live in capitol hill and it's alright. There's a ton of stuff to do and a lot of bars and restaurants. But I don't think we'll stay here for more than a year or two. I've been missing family in Chicago. So, we might head back there next year.

I know what you mean about getting a job. I've been unemployed for 3 months now and sometimes I'm ready to work again and sometimes I like not having anything to do. I think it's because I hate being an accountant.

I was looking at visas for the UK and because of the downturn in the economy, it's really difficult to get a visa right now. Companies are not looking to hire people who need visas to work in the UK. I looked into the highly skilled migrant program visa and they've made even more difficult to get that visa now. I'd love to move to Ireland or the UK. I'm just going to keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.

Will it be difficult for you to get another visa for the US?

Wait, you're only 24 and you were living in New York before you were 21 and then moved to Seattle? Did you go to Uni in New York or Seattle?

Is it easier for you guys to come and move to the US than for us to move to Ireland and the UK?

What kind of work do you do? I think there are very few jobs anywhere right now. I just read today that there are on average 600 applicants per every job in the Puget Sound area.

Why and when did you live in Seattle? How long did you live in Seattle? Did you enjoy your time here?

I've actually just moved here from LA three months ago. My partner and I moved here because he found a job with Microsoft. I'm still looking for work. So far it's been nice. We're actually thinking about moving to the UK or Ireland when we get the chance. Right now jobs are actually few and far between here and across the pond.

So what are you up to?
