I was in California once. The heat was awful, but it just didn't seem as bad as Iowa's. I think it was the humidity. I didn't have as hard a time dealing with it as I do with Iowa's. We have an underground house. Love it, but they forget to tell you you're gonna run a humidifier or dehumidifier all year long.
