The Promotion

I'm beginning to believe that the best movies I see are the one's I never heard of.
Case in point this movie I just watched titled THE PROMOTION.
It starred SEAN WILLIAMS SCOTT probably best known for playing STIFLER in the AMERICAN PIE movies.
In this film he plays Doug an assistant manager at a grocery store who when he ask about putting in for manager of a new store opening up within the chain his boss tells him he's a "shoe in" for the position.
That is until the arrival of Richard another assistant manager who has just transfered from a grocery store in Quebec, Canada.
Richard, is played by JOHN C. REILLY who I best remember for his role as CAL NAUGHTON, JR. (Remember SHAKE and BAKE) in the movie
TALLADEGA NIGHTS: THE BALLAD OF RICKY BOBBY.
Did you know this cats been in over 50 movies? Including 3 that were all nominated for a Best Picture ACADEMY AWARD in 2002
(CHICAGO, GANGS OF NEW YORK, THE HOURS.)
He was also nominated the same year for a OSCAR for Best Supporting Actor for his role in CHICAGO.
JENNA FISHER (you know PAM on THE OFFICE) playes Jen the wife of Doug.
To me she has that girl next door look (although I never had a girl like her ever live next door to me or even on the same block.)
She also wears a tank top and a sundress in this movie and I think she should wear them on The Office too! I'm just sayin'.
Anywho, Doug and Richard both want and need the job as manager in the new store and they know that the other guy is the only thing standing in the way.
The thing I liked most about this movie is it wasn't predictable, I figured it would be full of each guy going out of his way to screw the other guy out of the job (there were a couple moments where they did) it was really about 2 regular dudes with everyday stresses just trying to get a little ahead in life.
In one scene Richard (as he sparks a joint) says to Doug, "We're all just out here trying to get some food, sometimes we bump into each other."
And, that sums up the movie perfectly.
Per usual on a scale of 0 to 4 GREGGIES (0 being sucks and 4 a classic)
I give THE PROMOTION...2.5 GREGGIES.
Check it out, it was entertaining and a quick watch at about an hour and a half.

BONUS points if you can tell me what my favorite part of the movie was, besides JENNA FISHER of course.
