現行嘅普通話確實係元清時期受到統治民族嘅影響，唔可以稱為漢語，粵語比較接近當時嘅中原漢語，但係我也唔會覺得粵語就係漢語。係音譯呢度，我始終認為，音譯就應該與該地域通行的語言語音相似。呢個唔係何者為漢語本源嘅問題，係翻譯原則嘅問題。

至於"Jimmy"一詞，其實幾米係台灣一位繪本畫家的筆名，我覺得Mandarin的讀音"幾米"(Ji Mi)同source word好似吖。Cantonese同Mandarin本黎讀音就不盡相同，如果將"詹意"用係國語語境中，就變成"Zhan Yi"，讀音相似度自然也都差之甚遠。如果咁都無所謂，也都根本唔需要phonetic translation。
