The worst thing I did was underestimate myself. Largely I still do. You know you read the quotes telling you that you can do anything if you put your mind to it, but really nobody listens to those, they just say 'too true' and never apply them to their own lives, content on being mediocre, avoiding the their full potential in all it's scary unknown glory :D

Too true though, not enough people care for the future. Here in New Zealand we aren't so bad though, but we aren't as green as we claim sadly. I want to change that. I want to come up with an alternative to words and shock factor to make people take another's views on board ... one day I will xD

yeah i have 1 little sister and brother in each part of my family.

well we hear about the same things as the rest of europe, mostly news from the US. and europe doesn't have a very positive view on many of the things going on in the US. :P

civil service can mean pretty much any kind of work for the state, for example at a daycare center. the civil service is always 12 months but they can at least go home every day.

Yeah Finland isn't the most well known country in the world because of its' size but there are quite some interesting things here too. :)

"pretty darn cold", depends on what you compare to. if you compare to louisiana, yeah it's probably quite cold. ^^

we have about the same climate as the northern parts of the US despite us being way further north, it's because of the gulf stream bringing warm water from the mexican gulf up to northern europe.

we have conscript serive yes, you can choose between military and civil service but either way it's there. the length depends on the training and varies between 6 and 12 months.
