Your new garden sounds very interesting. Hope you have plenty of sucess with it. Have you heard about the Three Sisters? Corn, Bean and Pumpkin, were usually grown together, because they complement each other nicely, not only in terms of soil nutrients, but also in the way they grow. The bean climbs the corn, and the pumpkin covers the soil.
