it's a memoir of a persian teacher in iran teaching a small women's literature group in her apartment after being expelled from the university of tehran. you really ought to have read lolita and the great gatsby and a few other pieces of western and american literature bc she tells her memoir through works of literature. its really interesting to get a glance into the lives of iranian women from the point of an western educated iranian woman.
