"You are as many men as many languages as you speak"? Once upon a time I found completely contrary opinion. Gilbert Keith Chesterton said that "modern man is educated to understand foreign languages and misunderstand foreigners" - and personally, I see that some people have still the same way of thinking no matter how many languages they speak and how well. They don't understand the native speakers' mentality - and thereby are completely unable to become someone of different culture.
But whatever.
