My name is Jon, and I live not far from Nashville, Tennessee.

I am married and have one daughter, 18, who lives with us. My wife, is a British national, and is currenty in Engand, awaiting a visa from the US and she will be living here with me quite soon.

We live on a small farm of sorts, and I have a small orchard, vinyard, and a huge vegetable garden I spend much time working in. At work, I am the Chief Engineer in charge of network and security research for the State of Tennessee. I play several instruments, and are just about as happy on the back balcony playing guitar, as I am doing anything.

My family was French. Most of them until more recent times, actualy in France. According to my wife, who being right next door to France would know I suppose, I don't look like an American. I'm still trying to work out wether that was meant to be good or bad. No matter..She loves me anyway. I am the first member of the first generation of my family who cannot speak French. Fortunately, I have not lost my genetic ability to appreciate the quality of French food! When I next get to England I am determined to take a cheap flight to Paris just to get something to eat and see if it lives up to it's reputation..

At any rate, I have for any number of reasons taken a lot more interest in my French heritage, in that I have decided to teach myself French, and I have taken great interest in what it's like over there.

I found your profile very interesting so thought I would write and see if you have time in your life to answer and deal with the likes of me....

I am sure that you like Belgium a lot !!! I live in "Flanders", in the province "Oost-Vlaanderen", in a town called "Appelterre" (between Geraardsbergen and Ninove). I live about 30 km from Brussels and about 30 km from Renaix (Ronse). Well, Patricia, it would be great if we could write to eachother. Allthough, I live in Belgium, I've to admit that I am not "billingual". I can read French, but I can't write it !!! (I am just very honest !!!). I can speak & write English "fluently".
