My name is Jon, and I live not far from Nashville, Tennessee.

I am married and have one daughter, 18, who lives with us. My wife, is a British national, and is currenty in Engand, awaiting a visa from the US and she will be living here with me quite soon.

We live on a small farm of sorts, and I have a small orchard, vinyard, and a huge vegetable garden I spend much time working in. At work, I am the Chief Engineer in charge of network and security research for the State of Tennessee. I play several instruments, and are just about as happy on the back balcony playing guitar, as I am doing anything.

My family was French. Most of them until more recent times, actualy in France. According to my wife, who being right next door to France would know I suppose, I don't look like an American. I'm still trying to work out wether that was meant to be good or bad. No matter..She loves me anyway. I am the first member of the first generation of my family who cannot speak French. Fortunately, I have not lost my genetic ability to appreciate the quality of French food! When I next get to England I am determined to take a cheap flight to Paris just to get something to eat and see if it lives up to it's reputation..

At any rate, I have for any number of reasons taken a lot more interest in my French heritage, in that I have decided to teach myself French, and I have taken great interest in what it's like over there.

I found your profile very interesting so thought I would write and see if you have time in your life to answer and deal with the likes of me....

Thanks for reading and hope to hear from you..

Have a great day..

You should also include South Africa in your favourites. We have beautiful weather, lovely beaches. Im hoping to visit France next year-your language is just so difficult to learn! What would be a good area in France to visit?

Bonjour! I've been tracing my family tree for about 10 years (not full-time!), and have found it to be quite involved...as with most Americans, my ancestors came from many places and were very "migratory". ;-) Have you been fortunate with your genealogical research? Also, GREAT quotes! Are they your own? Hopp to hear from yuo soon. A bientot! - Marque

Hey Patricia,
I am sure that you like Belgium a lot !!! I live in "Flanders", in the province "Oost-Vlaanderen", in a town called "Appelterre" (between Geraardsbergen and Ninove). I live about 30 km from Brussels and about 30 km from Renaix (Ronse). Well, Patricia, it would be great if we could write to eachother. Allthough, I live in Belgium, I've to admit that I am not "billingual". I can read French, but I can't write it !!! (I am just very honest !!!). I can speak & write English "fluently". If you like, I give you my name & address, if you're willing to write the "first letter" ??? If you prefer me, writing first, it's no problem either !!!
Have a great evening and I am hoping to hear you soon again.
Tonz of love,
Maddy

Hello,
I just visited your profile and ofcourse, I don't want to disappear, without saying "hello". Well, it fascinated me, when I read "Vidauban", because many years ago, I spended some of my summerholidays, in the South of France, on a camping called "L'Ombrage", in Vidauban.
Have a nice evening and if it might interest you ??? (I read that you're interested in writing, but "Belgique" wasn't among your favorites !!!), you may always contact me !!!
Best wishes,
Maddy
