About Me

I am an American living in Korea. I have been here a long time. I have taught English before, have a good speaking voice and worked on the radio in the US. I now work as a professor of public administration. I am an idealist and want to make a better world for people.

Hobbies & Interests

I like reading, studying, teaching, bicycling, walking, building models, playing games, and watching movies.

Favorite Music

I am not big into music, but I generally like catchy tunes and socially conscious music about making a better world.

Favorite Movies

I love movies-Sergio Leone, Luis Bunuel, David Cronenberg, et al. I like good stories. I like to talk about movies I enjoy and I like to talk about movies I hate!

Favorite TV Shows

I do not like TV too much. Living in Korea, I keep a taste of America through House and the occasional mystery like Castle or NCIS.

Favorite Books

I enjoy history, assorted mystery (Patricia Highsmith, Fred Vargas, Michael Connelly), some sci fi, poetry, and have a degree in Russian literature and appreciate Kurt Vonnegut, Dario Fo, and Chinua Achebe.

Favorite Quotes

Not only are whites kicking us. They are telling us how to react to being kicked. -Steve Biko

It's all an act with dogs. They do it for the food. -Kimball Cho

We are effecitvely destroying ourselves by violence masquerading as love. -R.D. Laing
