Me and my class went to a primary school in the province to teach the kids English and also helped paint the school as we believed that white walls were a little to boring for an environment where kids would be learning.

We also packed them goodie bags which includes basic stationery items for them to use in school such as colour pencils, pencils, erasers, ruler and a few other stuff...

I really loved the attitude in the kids there. The creativity they have provided with just one ball is seriously beyond words. Absolutely touched with how they try to communicate with us even with the language barrier.

I was a little bit emotionally attached to the kids and I had a heavy heart when I left but overall the journey taught me to appreciate things much better in my country, Singapore. The cleanliness, the fresh air, I guess everything! Like I'm studying in an environment where there's a laptop, proper tables and chairs, lockers, air-conditioner but when I visited the school there, the environment wasn't as what I expected it to be. The kids there are also very respectful to the teachers which is not something you see in Singapore. Most of the kids or students actually take teachers for granted sometimes and it's extremely disappointing to see them like that. I'm glad I am respectful to my teacher and after witnessing the kids in Vietnam, I try to make my friends be more polite to our lecturers in school.

Overall, it was a fulfilling trip for me and my classmates. The rice plantation and food and everything else in Vietnam really impacted me in a certain way and I wouldn't hesitate to come back after graduating from school :)
