I'm sure you would understand some Spanish in it's written form, in my opinion it is much closer to Portuguese when it's written than when it's spoken.
I'd love to learn Portuguese but I just don't think I have enough time to do so right now. Bit if you need a hand with English just let me know.

Yes, sure. I'm totally unable to write in Portuguese, though I understand the majority of it in writing. That's because I speak fluent Spanish, and the Portuguese I learned, I learned before learning Spanish, and Spanish ruined my Portuguese!
