Hi Diane, I used to have pet rats (Norwegian Hooded rats). The rat likes living in groups, otherwise they mope and this affects their health so I would get another (the same sex). My daughter Zoe used to have a chilean rose tarantula

You must be a lot younger than I am. I am now expecting my 12th grand child in September and I have five daughters (all grown up) and 1 son (deceased). Yes I am divorced.... Used to have pet rats (no tarantula's as I am scared of large spiders...). The rats I had were all Norwegian Hooded and we had six of each sex in two separate aquariums (very large at that, not the rats). Now I live in sheltered housing in East Lincolnshire and have a dog and cat, as you may already have discovered. I am planning on moving to East Yorkshire asap.
