Oh – and sorry for the super late reply. I got hit by turbo depression these last few days ...

Don't be in such a rush to meet him 😂 I'm sure he'll want you to take your sweet time getting up there haha

Every time I come home it's a full hero's welcome - like I had to wrestle a leopard and fight my way through enemy lines just to bring home groceries 😂 Though I could definitely do without the two furry terrors trying to push me down the stairs in their excitement haha

How long has it been since you last visited New York? Do you miss it at all ?

All those TV shows and movies make it seem like you Floridians wrestle alligators after breakfast for exercise, then strangle a Burmese python or two on the way to work for good measure 😂

We've got a saying about monkeys here that translates to: "Once the door is open, it's not YOUR house anymore - it's THEIRS!" (cue Soviet anthem) 💀 Not too long ago the government had to intervene because monkey troops were launching full-scale raids on houses in certain residential areas. They're coordinated, shameless, and have zero respect for property rights.

Kandy's in the highlands, so the wildlife is different from coastal areas. Most worrisome things here are poisonous snakes, wild boars, and leopards - though leopards aren't found in my specific area. Mostly we get peacocks, porcupines, and maybe a deer once in a blue moon if you're lucky. The lowlanders though? They have to deal with angry elephants and crocodiles, which sounds significantly worse.

Wait, you've NEVER had BBQ?! WHAT?! 😱 How does that even happen living in the SOUTH?! That's like living in Italy and never eating pasta, or living in France and never having bread 😂 Is that a vegetarian thing, or just never got around to it?

Speaking of - you've been vegetarian since childhood. Was that a family decision or personal choice?

Yeah, Sudu went through this phase where she absolutely REFUSED to eat unless she was hand-fed by yours truly. Little git would park her keister right next to her food bowl, slowly wag her tail, and give me these hopeful puppy eyes like she was starving (she wasn't). I wouldn't have minded except she deliberately ate as slowly as physically possible. One bite... then a few licks behind my ear... then she'd stare at me with pure joy for a solid minute... then another bite. Wash, rinse, repeat. Little **** would stretch this out for anywhere from 30 minutes to a full HOUR 💀

Even Brownie tried copying her antics for a while, but being the perpetually hungry girl she is, she gave up pretty quickly because it took too damn long. Sudu's mostly gotten over that phase now... emphasis on mostly. She still tries it occasionally when she's feeling particularly princess-like 😂

I can't imagine having to constantly clarify "No, that's my TWIN, we're different people" 😂 Does she get annoyed about it too, or have you both just accepted it as an inevitable thing?

Comforting to think all dogs go to heaven, yeah. Pretty sure if there's an afterlife, dogs got VIP access while humans are still in the security line trying to explain themselves.

That kind of loss doesn't follow a timeline. 2022 might as well be yesterday when it's your soul dog. The ones who actually see you - not just recognize you - those leave a permanent mark. Sounds like your boy was that. I'm sorry. He knew he was loved. That's what counts.

Sudu and Brownie run my life with an iron paw. They judge every decision I make, but it feels like accountability rather than cruelty. Can't imagine this house without them.

You've been in Florida since age 3, so that's basically your entire conscious life. Do you even remember New York, or is it just "that place in family stories"? What made your parents move - just cost of living?

Do you actually have to dodge alligators and pythons every time you go grocery shopping? 😂 Is that real life or tourist panic?

We've got toque macaques (monkeys) here in Sri Lanka that'll launch full commando raids if you leave a window open - they're coordinated and shameless. Crows will straight-up mob you for food. Monitor lizards are around but they mostly keep to themselves unless you corner them. Crocodiles exist but attacks are rare - they avoid people.

How's vegetarian life treating you in the South? I imagine BBQ country makes that... challenging? Or have you found your spots?

Also, the twin sister thing on InterPals sounds exhausting. Do people constantly message the wrong one of you?

Appreciate you stopping by to compliment the girls - Brownie sends her regards (Sudu's too busy being royalty to acknowledge peasants).

Ah man, I'm sorry. Losing a dog in 2022... that's still fresh. Mine (Sudu and Brownie) were found abandoned as puppies outside our place - eyes weren't even open. Now they run my life. Can't imagine them not being around.

How long have you been in Florida? Saw you're from New York originally - that's a big climate change. What brought you down south?

Ah man, I'm really sorry. Losing a soul dog... that's heartbreaking. When did he pass? I've got two at home (Sudu and Brownie) and honestly they're my lifeline - can't even imagine going through that. Hope you're doing okay
