I've lived in Germany and Japan, and visit my wife's family in Japan often. I've spent 3 to 4 months a year in Japan for the last decade.
I treat messages here like email, rather than text/IM so it can take a few days for me to reply.
Some favorite discussion topics: food, birds, Tokyo/Kanagawa, 80s/90s video games, SciFi books/movies, traveling, animals (other than the aforementioned birds), bakeries, and maybe even more!
If I had to only choose two foods, they would be bread and cheese. I've even come to appreciate pumpernickel (something I hated when I was a kid).
