There's no need to attack me. I wasn't trying to be anything but kind to you. I don't care what someone would look like. I agree with you on that one.
The thing is, it's nice to see the face of someone you talk to. Not because it would have to be pretty or not, but just so you know you're not talking to a machine or who know what else. It creates a more informal relationship which is a good start for a friendship. Also, profiles without pictures tend fake a lot of the time, that's why it's better to have some foto's on them. No one wants a penpal that could easily be a 50-year old man, you know?
Honestly I didn't want to offend you. I hope you don't really feel that way about yourself. By being scared to put your face on the internet you feed the obsession... You then seem to agree that only perfect faces should be put online and I imagine that's not what you think at all.
I tried being nice, the only reason I didn't say hi is because I feel like that's something you say when you've got nothing else to say + the fact that I said something kinda implied the hi-part.
You should try to see the good in everything first because most of the time things really are meant that way. I don't think you'd want other people approaching you with the attitude you just approached me. That way you scare away people who could turn out to be great friends and have a lot in common with you.
Being nice doesn't hurt. I've been through a lot and it's easy to let past expieriences influence your interpretation of new people's motives, but that's just a recipe to unhappiness...

May I just say what a marvellous taste in literature you have. Roald Dahl is my all-time favourite writer and it always makes me smile to see other people listing his works among their favourite books. Have you read his adult short stories by any chance?
James Joyce, Albert Camus, David Lodge and of course good old Bill Shakespeare - in my humble opinion you are very well-read indeed.
Don't you have pictures of yourself? I mean you toe seems lovely but that's not all of you there is, is there? I've seen some pretty weird looking people but none of them looked like a cat so I think it's safe to assume that's not your face in your profile picture xd
