I am Nelly, a lover of life, chaser of dreams, collector of precious moments, knowledge eager soul, passionate letter writer and bookdragon. I live with my husband and the love of our lives, our son, Pedro, and our fur-children, the gorgeous and charming felines that adopted us, Bandini, Dulcineia and Gigi. We have recently added to our furry family and welcomed our dog Ali. I am a psychologist, working in Quality/Human Resources management/Child Care and I am absolutely in love with my job. Time is an asset and, sadly, not broadly available, so, despite a wide diversity of interests, I usually indulge in my greatest passions whenever I have a moment to spare - writing (mostly letters, but also in my journal) and reading. Letter writing has become fundamental, it’s more than a way to connect and allow the words to work their magic and forge special friendships (and this is quite a lot, I know!), it’s also therapeutic, it fosters my ability to make sense of the inner chaos and it is incredibly mind-broadening, it inspires me to think outside the box and welcome and champion diversity.
I am down-to-earth and straightforward, I love to laugh (nothing like a heartfelt guffaw to trigger all sorts of wonderfulness!), I am an idealist and a daydreamer and I believe the world changes with one small act of kindness at a time. I am a hopeless optimist and I can always find a silver lining. I am an introvert and feast on quiet time. I am passionate about gender equality, zero waste and animal rights.
I love cinema (horror movies are my favourite – don’t frown!), tv-series, dancing, music, traveling, being creative (scrapbooking, mail art...) and – did I mention laughing?
