THE SKIES BREATHE WITH YOU
Your gaze, the first river birthed by dawn—
flowers bow to your stream, singing with their roots.
Your hair, a mist unraveling on mountain peaks:
curl by curl, you rain down upon the wildwoods.
When your fingertips brush a dove’s wing,
fields weave an indigo carpet from dewdrops.
Your footprints awaken daffodils in Mother Earth’s womb—
each step pregnant with the birth of a star!
When your lips speak, oak trees take root in the sky,
your shadows teach the cliffs the sun’s tongue.
If your laughter is a storm, then I
am a ship with shattered oars—
you, the hurricane steering my course.
You are;
a wheat field’s love letter to the wind,
a gemstone cascading from a volcano’s blaze,
the seed of the Milky Way glowing in night’s embrace…
Beside you, even pebbles recite verse,
for the earth rewrites its poem
with every breath you take.
Look,
birds unfurl their wings for you—
the rainbow blushes to color your shadow!
