"Why didn't he defend himself?"

A story from someone who embraced Islam:
I was walking with my child, and we passed by a statue of Christ near a church.
My son asked me:
“Who is this, Dad?”
I said:
“This is the son of God, and he is our Lord.”
He replied:
“Why is he crucified? And why does his body have wounds, and he looks so weak? I feel sorry for him!”
I told him:
“He was crucified because criminals who don’t believe in him did this to him.”
Then my son asked me:
“Why didn’t his father defend him? Or why didn’t he defend himself, being a strong God?”
I answered:
“God chose this so that he could atone for our sins! Because when he allowed his son to be crucified, it was a sacrifice for us and an atonement for our sins!”
Then my son said:
“Dad, would you allow them to crucify me? Would you let me suffer for someone else if you could defend me?”
I replied:
“Of course not.”
He then asked:
“So how could God allow this to happen to His son while He is able to forgive our sins without making His son suffer and be humiliated by humans?”

This conversation marked the beginning of my journey to Islam.
The innocent questions of a child led me to the truth!

How can any human mind accept such a belief? How can anyone have faith in it?

All praise is due to Allah for the natural disposition of Islam.
Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us and have mercy on us. Admit us, by Your mercy, among Your righteous servants. Ameen🤲
