About Me
I'm from (and still live in) a very rural area of Kentucky.  Although there is beauty and serenity abound the same cannot be said about opportunities for friendship.  I am here to try to alleviate the sparsity of human interaction outside of my own family.

--As a quick and easy way to weed out most fake people that are the cancer of this site/app and those who don't bother reading profiles, I'll put this gate-of-entry up top-- tell me your favorite way/form of eating a potato.  This is purely a quick check for me to assume you'll take the time to at least skim through some of what I've written - I'm not actually interested in talking about potatoes.. so, please say something more.

I've been traipsing thru my days begrudgingly hand-in-hand with my stern mistress that is lovingly known as Relapsing-Remitting Multiple Sclerosis since roughly 2008 and although this not a terminal diagnosis by any means - I am marching through this dauntingly unpredictable torpor with timid steps.  I've also got Chronic Pain Syndrome which despite my best efforts is voraciously unabated... and yet, I am wide awake, aware, and deeply breathing.  The combined malaise of these two ailments in tandem has, much to my dismay, turned me into a big ole' writhing pile of vapid apathy!
Please don't mistake the above as phishing for sympathy -- I just felt it could be insightful to this m_ess I call my life.  You really don't have to try to comfort or pity me by telling me I'm brave and whatnot; you don't know me and it's simply not true.  I walk a path on the edge of the perturbing unknown which is a constant reminder of both my frailty and that I am mortal - but these cloudy skies can have their silver linings if you know where to look.
Having said the aforementioned, I make fun of the disease as much as I can and am not as depressed or crestfallen about this as one might initially surmise - but given a long enough time conversing together it's almost a certainty that I will whinge and bleat about it some.

Now on to some other "fun factoids" about me...:
2 of my biggest fears are flying and primates; particularly chimpanzees, mandrills, and especially gorillas.  It's likely safe to say then that my apex (no pun intended) fear would be finding myself on a flight with gorillas, and/or straight up flying gorillas - ya know.. like those creepy flying monkeys from the Wizard of Oz.  I do think though that I would take a flight to escape a gorilla if I were to ever find myself in a need-to-escape-a-gorilla scenario.  However, I can and sometimes do listen to the band Gorillaz with no fearful apprehensions.

My greatest joys come from making people laugh - whether through  sarcasm, self-deprecation, dark humor, or overall general mindless silliness; I'm a no-holds-barred type when it comes to comedy.  I also amuse myself - so even when it's just me laughing... I did what I set out to do.  I'm really just a big bundle of goofy, dorky, nonsensical dufus-ness when you get to know me well enough.
I like to attempt to cook.. I'm not good at it, but it's enjoyable still.  Share a recipe or the name of your favorite cuisine - I might like to have a go.  And to my dear Italian peoples I'm looking at you hesitantly.. I promise I wouldn't purposely try to ruin your food.
My favorite types of food are our American bastardizations of Italian and Mexican.

My favorite animals are penguins (Magellanic > Crested > Emperor > King) and elephants (LotR's Oliphaunt > African > Asian).
Favorite flower is Amaryillis mostly because I think it has a cool sounding name alongside being pretty in appearance.
Favorite gemstone is Alexandrite - with no correlation of it being my birthstone.  I'm in the market for 30,000 of 'em - whether single pieces, Linen or Cotton purses, or a single Cat's Eye.  If you know what I'm specifically referring to - you win, let's talk about it.
My long-standing dream in life is to see an Aurora... I don't think it would matter whether it is Borealis or Australis - honestly it's a dead dream that I'm pretty certain at this point won't happen.  There was also a hopeless romantic aspect to the idea, so the dream has essentially been double tapped in the head.  I'm talking about the dancing streaks type, not just "Ooh the sky looks a little green  or whatever in that area over there."

What should be an obvious aside:  I'm from the US of A (hence the American flag by my name), I just so happen to be from a town called Lebanon.  "My" Lebanon is the namesake of biblical Lebanon due to cedar tree farming or something like that.

What is today if not but yesterday's tomorrow?  How we feel today may seem the same as yesterday - yet tomorrow will somehow be completely different in our fickle brains.  So, let's have our shotgun-friendship today only to become an ephemeral thought come the sunrise of some unknown/undetermined tomorrow.  Let's dance with words before our vibrant Spring days full of newness gives way to the inexorable Winter of forlornly silence.  Alas, it is heart-wrenching in the worst of ways to see how easily you can befall into someone's indifference.  That cold quietude is an incomparably isolating spectral floe.

In spite of all the rambling allegoric inanity above - if you've made it this far, thank you for reading and I hope you might spare some magnanimity unto me and privilege me with a message.
I ask that you continue on to my requests section first tho, please.
Requests
I'm chronically bored, yet never so much so as to entertain the  insubstantial greeting of only a "Hello, How are you?"  Being asked "How are you?" is within my top 3 pet peeves of all time, so please just skip that formality.  And also, as someone whom is bound to the twisting wiles of a progressively debilitating disease; being asked how you are is borderline insulting.
Anyway, if I've somehow piqued your interest enough to be deserving of a message from you - all I ask is for at least a brief introduction (you can make the message as long as you'd like, too) and any evidence that you took the time to read anything I've written here.  ANY tangible reason that I could latch onto as to why we could potentially be friends.  Also, in my entire time of being on Interpals I've never sent a first message to anyone, so if you want to talk, the proverbial ball is in your court.
I promise I do not bite but I'll try my damnedest to "kill you with kindness."
Kindness and genuineness is key; and kindness is the only currency I accept.
Language Exchange Requests
I'm not learning any languages, nor do I feel my deteriorating brain could be capable.  But, I'd love to learn some Italian!
Hobbies & Interests
Final Fantasy XI ● Elite: Dangerous ● American Truck Simulator ● Euro Truck Simulator 2 ● Nine Parchments ● Rocket League ● Tribes of Midgard ● Castlevania: Symphony of the Night ● Baldur's Gate 3 ● Legend of Zelda series ● Shadow of the Colossus

I've played Dungeons & Dragons since I was 11 - but currently am not involved in any campaigns.  My longest played characters were a Human Monk (Way of the Shadow), a Pixie Bard (Class of Glamour), and a Silver Elf Eldritch Knight (designed as a Dragoon based on Final Fantasy Dragoons).

Cross-stitch ● Watercolors ● Time lapse videos of clouds ● Aquariums, Terrariums and Paludariums (Oh my!)

I've recently manifested a green thumb and a desire for nurturing flowers.  I've got a 4'x4' planter filled with various bulbs that I'm excited to see the results of in the Spring of 2024.

In gaming: I'd love to find a Cab-over Pete with a reefer on or a "Pig pen" haulin' hogs in the 2 trucking sims; clean, clear to Flag town 'cause mercy sake's alive we'd have ourselves a convoy - copy?; or a second commander to wing with and explore the Milky Way galaxy in Elite: Dangerous; or someone else to throw spells around with in Nine Parchments.
I'm a "veteran" FFXI player and I'd really love to find someone who'd be interested in exploring Vana'diel for their first time to play alongside.
Most recently I've been playing Helldivers 2 and Last Epoch - wouldn't mind some friends for those, too.

Favorite Music
T00L ● Puscifer ● Slipknot ● A Perfect Circle ● CCR ● Primus ● Daft Punk ● Mindless Self Indulgence ● Rasputina ● Oh Land

I'm a die-hard Tool and MJK fan.  I hold Tool on an untouchable seven-pointed star pedestal adorned with a permanent diadem.  Having said that - I listen to Puscifer more (for far different reasons than I do Tool).  I'm well aware of the disparity in style and/or talent of the 2 bands.  Tool is my soul, Puscifer is my heart in a way.  Now you know the easiest access to the skeleton key of me.
Favorite Movies
Fight Club and Jurassic Park are probably my favorites.
My favorite animated movie above anything Disney or Studio Ghibli is the Swan Princess.
And, in no specific order:
Groundhog Day ● the Big Lebowski ● Star Wars ● Requiem for a Dream ● the Wizard of Oz ● Wolf Children ● Princess Mononoke ● Howl's Moving Castle ● Castle in the Sky ● Spirited Away ● My Neighbor TOTORO ● Tales from Earthsea ● The Secret World of Arietty ● Mary and Max ● Romy and Michele's High School Reunion ● Fantastic Mr Fox ● the Princess Bride ● Tremors ● UHF ● Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind ● Snatch ● Christmas Vacation ● Inception ● Slingblade ● Troy ● Babe ● Lord of the Rings ● Mirror Mask ● I Am Legend ● TMNT I & II ● Disney movies ● Dark Knight ● 12 Angry Men ● Pi ● Faust ● Ernest movies ● Kite ● Billy Madison ● Baseketball ● Boondock Saints ● Monty Python and the Holy Grail ● Muppet movies ● Zombieland ● the Sixth Sense ● American Psycho ● Office Space ● Dragonheart ● Dumb and Dumber ●  Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory ● Tin Man ● Harry Potter ● Pan's Labyrinth ● the Brave Little Toaster ● FFVII: Advent Children ● The Last Unicorn ● Team America ● Harry and the Hendersons ● Coraline ● Fear and Loathing ● Independence Day

I'm not much of a movie watcher despite the list.
Favorite TV Shows
I haven't seriously watched TV since around 2015...
BUT, when I do/did it was usually things like:

Forensic Files ● South Park ● Mr. Roger's Neighborhood ● King of the Hill ● Impractical Jokers ● Malcolm in the Middle ● Stand-up comedy specials (Bill Burr, Dave Chappelle, Mitch Hedberg, Tom Segura, Anthony Jeselnik, Gabriel Iglesias, Jim Jefferies) ● Whose Line is it Anyway? ● Cheers ● Breaking Bad ● the Universe ● ALF ● Penn & Teller Fool Us ● Mythbusters ● I Shouldn't Be Alive ●  Cash Cab ● 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown

I watch a lot of true crime murder investigations.
