I just got back from CA & PA and all that's in between the east coast NJ, NY, DE, and D.C :)
Howdy!,
In the few times I've visited the Big Isle, I've never been to Kalapana! Famous for the black sand beaches, yes? One visit my sister and I got to see the Kailua-Kona side. I remember it being lots of fun, but I don't remember anything specific.
I do remember eating more mango and papaya than I may ever eat again! Not a big fan of poi, though...
I have not heard of Uncle Robert Keliihoomalu; does he have any recordings available? I'd enjoy learning of some of the "modern traditionalists." I don't know much about slack key, myself, though I have experimented with alternate tunings and slide work. I just don't practice them enough to become proficient. I'm more of a flatpicker, though I do some occasional fingerpicking. Give me a chord progression and a basic melody, and I can improvise all day.
I am trying to remember more about my few visits, but it's coming back too slowly. I will not give up! In the meantime, what is Hilo like today? Are there any parts that are still the same as they were 25 years ago? Is there more development between Hilo and Pahoa and Kapoho?

Aloha from Kauai~
Nice to see you here!
Nice to see you here!
Thanks for your reply. I am glad to hear from you. I like the movies you have listed too. Walk To Remember was so sad. But I really enjoyed it. I cried. I am a huge horror and Disney fan. My favorite movies are always changes so I have the main ones on my profile that ever change. No I have not seen Twilight yet. Heaps of people have said it was good so I am going to hire it out when I have a free night. I am a dvdaholic. Half the dvds I own I have not watched yet. I can never go shopping without buying a dvd. I look forward to getting to know you better. Take care and talk soon.
Well I've been sick myself too, was actually getting better on Sunday but then for some reason I got sick again yesteryday! Hey I always welcome more people to randomly chat to when I'm bored :P, keeps my life moving even on those boring days HEHE! I currently work for myself and do Consulting in IT, not very exciting but it has its moments which can be interesting : )

Hey girl,
You into snail mail - I'll love to exchange letters with ya. I have been out of the state. Actually, I just returned. This is my 3rd week back home now. But I was out for almost 2 months. Well little more than a month & a half. Anyways, let me know.
