I read your profile so I must inquire . . .
is it OK to write you if I am currently IN a European prison?

lol, just kidding. Ive never been to either prison or Europe, so, Ive just cancelled out any decent reason to bother you lol. ALTHOUGHHHH, Im think'n its much easy for me to end up in prison than find my way to Europe, but I digress.

Anyhow, while writing that question, I came up with another more serious question . . . how come, at least to my ear, "a European prison" sounds better than the grammatically proper "an European prison". . . proper since "European" begins with a vowel.

Never mind Kelly, thank god for google. I found the answer:

"Any word that sounds like it begins with a consonant is preceded by the pronoun A, even if it begins with the letter E. Since the word EUROPEAN sounds like it begins with a Y, the proper pronoun is A."

and now because of my stupid lame attempt to say hello to you, Ive learned something valuable.
