Yeah I know it's not easy when you lack confidence, especially with language. I feel the same way about speaking Korean because mine is so poor and I know my pronunciation is way off. I guarantee majority of Koreans speak much better English than my dodgy Korean. :P
When I'm out and about I can distinguish when a person or people are speaking Korean though, it has a very distinct sound.. Today alone I passed 3 groups of Korean people and knew they were speaking Korean pretty much instantly.
Do you have much in the way of contact with foreigners over there?

Btw, have you spent time overseas? Your English leads me to believe so.. or I could just be totally wrong which is common.
